SERVING OPPORTUNITIES: Hope has many programs that help the community : Mobile Food Pantry- Lutheran Community Services funds and coordinates efforts with the Food Bank of Delaware who delivers a truck on the 3rd Thursday of each month filled with approximately 160 boxes of food that are given out to those in need. L.I.F.E. Food Pantry - Lutherans Involved in Food Emergencies (LIFE) Food Pantry is funded by LCS and donations made through our own congregation. The pantry is stocked with food donations or food ordered through the Food Bank of Delaware. Bags of food are packed and distributed to clients screened by a variety of social service agencies. Clothing Closet - Funded through LCS and the Clothing Bank of Delaware, this program operates on the 3rd Thursday of each month where gently used clothes are available to anyone who is in need.
Fresh Produce Distribution - Also funded through LCS, the Food Bank of Delaware delivers fresh surplus produce on the first Monday of each month. We never know what might be on the truck or how much will be available, but whatever we have is divided among the people who sow up that day.
Child Care - Hope operates a community child care and preschool which is fully licensed with an enrollment of approximately 100 children. We offer a safe and loving environment for children in our community.
Scouting - Hope charters a Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop and also host a Girl Scout Brownie Troop. Click on the links at the top of the page to learn more about each individual program
